Definitions
  1. AER stands for Annual Equivalent Rate. This shows you what the interest rate would be if interest was paid and compounded once each year.
  2. Gross is the rate of interest payable without taking account of any tax payable.
  3. Business Day refers to any days other than Saturday, Sunday, or Bank Holiday on which banks are open for business in London.
* Interest on your notice deposit is calculated on the balance at the end of each day and added to your account on the following Business Day.

Yes, if we decrease your rate in a way that is materially to your disadvantage, we will provide you with at least 109 days’ notice before the change comes into effect. If you wish to perform withdrawal following the receipt of such notice, the notice period set out below (in "Can I withdraw money?") will apply. If we increase your interest rate, we will notify you and the change will take effect on the next business day.

FAQs

For any changes of interest rate, we will inform you by email. You do not need to take any action if you wish to continue your notice deposit with the new interest rate.
Provided that you give the necessary 95 days' notice period, there will be no charge for withdrawing funds from the notice deposit account. Additionally, it is possible to make partial withdrawals from the account.
Unfortunately, this account doesn’t permit withdrawals in advance of you providing 95 days’ notice period. However, we may allow you to close your account and make a withdrawal in exceptional circumstances, at our discretion. We may ask for evidence and/or further information to be provided in these situations.
Both Notice Deposits and Fixed Term Deposits are types of accounts that offer more attractive interest rates than regular savings accounts. The significant differences between them are: 1. Withdrawal of Funds Notice Deposit: Funds can be withdrawn upon providing advance notice, typically, 95 days. Fixed Term Deposit: No withdrawals are allowed during the fixed term which can range from 1 to 12 months. 2. Flexibility Notice Deposit: Tend to offer more flexibility, permitting occasional withdrawals, without penalty, if the required notice period is given. Fixed Term Deposit: Offer less flexibility and may not allow for any early withdrawals without penalty. 3. Interest Rate Notice Deposit: A 95 days’ Notice Deposit will tend to offer a higher interest rate than a 3 month fixed term deposit as the funds are committed for a longer period of time. Interest is compounded as it accrued and credited on a daily basis. Fixed Term Deposit: Interest is credited only on maturity.
